Buttermilk Scones Recipe

Baking powder
Bicarbonate of soda
Salt
Butter or margarine, chilled

Method :
- Preheat the oven to 220oC/425oF/Gas

- Sift the flour, baking powder,
bicarbonate of soda and salt into a mixing bowl.
- Cut in the butter or margarine with a
fork until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
- Add the buttermilk and mix until well
combined to form a soft dough.
- Turn the dough on to a lightly floured
surface and knead for about 30 seconds.
- Roll out the dough to a 1 cm
thickness. Used a floured 6 cm pastry cutter to cut out rounds.
- Transfer the rounds to a baking sheet
and bake until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
- Serve hot with butter and honey.
